What to Expect from our Contractor Screening Services

Background Screening | August 9, 2021

When working with a partner for contractor screening services, you want to know they have your best interests in mind. At PlusOne Solutions, we do exactly that.

Our leadership team has delivered contractor screening and related services for decades and we take our responsibility for the compliance of your network seriously. We work hard to ensure the best performance from your program.

Let’s look at what you can expect when partnering with PlusOne Solutions.

Maximizing the Relationships

Although we are contracted by you, our Customer, we also work very closely with your entire network, and the individuals within that network, to ensure your compliance levels are understood, met, and maintained. Our model is considered a tri-party approach which includes – a Customer, their servicing company, and the individual contractor.

Depending on the requirements, we happily and professionally work with each of these levels within the contracted relationship. For example, when collecting Certificates of Insurance (COI) or copies of licenses, we may work with the servicing company, when completing background checks and drug tests we will work with the individual contractors and set the program, report on compliance rates and for other matters, we work with our customers.

Many organizations focus on the company/customer level only but maintaining positive relations with all levels in the contractor chain improves the overall relationship and success of any compliance program and reflects favorably on the overall contract.

Extra Steps to Ensure Accuracy and QualityContractor Screening

Whether it is reviewing the policy limits, language, or endorsements on a COI, doing quality assurance on a badge before it is printed, or verifying the identification information provided for a background screening, PlusOne Solutions takes accuracy and quality results seriously.

Our background checks are regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and we have numerous internal programs and various steps to cross-reference data. We make sure that results returned in our Contractor Screening services can be relied on as verified, accurate, and thorough. This extends to our TIN Matching, COI Management, License Verification, and Badging Services as well.

We do not just flag information and push it back to individuals, the company, or the Customer to verify…. we do whatever we can to resolve it directly with the source. We use various services to pull information, we look at historical and other details we may have on file and we take extra steps to make sure that our results can be used to mitigate network risk.

Comprehensive Contractor Compliance Options

There are thousands of organizations that conduct background checks, many can also track COIs or verify license and certification information or print badges and check Tax Identification Numbers (TINs). Where PlusOne Solutions is unique is in how we do all these things, cohesively and logically, report on compliance of these programs to contract requirements through a single platform and we do them all well!

Instead of various data feeds and multiple vendors, PlusOne Solutions offers various reporting platforms and data integration methods so that the scope of your entire contractor compliance program can be done with one vendor. We employ subject matter expertise to support each of our product offerings and understand how these work together in your overall compliance program.

Proactive Working Partnership

When PlusOne Solutions manages Contractor Compliance Services for our Customers, we do so with your needs and desire for full compliance in mind. This means that we work closely with your network to make sure they know what the requirements of the program are when COIs, screenings, or other documents are set to expire and we proactively work with them to maintain their compliance.

We understand the network’s role is to complete jobs for you so where possible, we work with the Compliance Contact at the servicing company, or the Insurance Agent, to get the information we need while allowing the contractor to focus on the job they have to get done. We also use the information we already have in our system to expedite the process and reduce the need to ask for duplicate or unnecessary information.

We also provide education and industry update resources to our Customers, their networks, and contractors, as appropriate. We also work closely to ensure Customers understand their obligations and role in the services we offer and are committed to supporting their networks as well.

We don’t just complete a screening, badge, or obtain a COI and then move on, we actively monitor information and ensure ongoing attention is paid to the overall account and network. This ensures we are supporting your network and compliance goals as rigorously as you would.
